Frequently Asked Questions

1) Our INTENSIVE SPANISH PROGRAM meets all the requirements for obtaining a student visa for Spanish studies in Spain:

• Duration: 1 academic year.
• Schedule: 20 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.).
• Level: Beginner (up to B2 level).
• Dates: 9 September – 30 June / 11 January – 17 December.
• Enrollment Deadline: Up to 1 month before the start of the course.
• Tuition fee: €2,500. The fee may be paid in two instalments of €1,250 each: one before the course begins and the other halfway during the third month of the course. This is the total fee. The only additional cost is €30 for the textbook we use.
• No special requirements are needed to enroll.

2) The granting of a student visa is entirely at the discretion of the embassy or consulate. A student visa entitles the holder to obtain a TIE (Foreigner Identity Card) and to work up to 30 hours per week during the period of study. Any other questions of this kind should be addressed to the relevant authorities or competent administrative bodies.

3) If there are delays in the visa application process, you may postpone the start of your course to a later edition without any inconvenience. Simply send your request to profiele@unex.es. 

4) If you are interested in continuing your studies at the University of Extremadura, you can enroll directly in the Bachelor’s Pathway Program or the Master’s Pathway Program.

5) Enrollment is completed online through the Eventos platform, where you can pay by credit or debit card. Payment may also be made by bank transfer (our bank details are also available on the Eventos platform).

5) Once you have enrolled, please send a copy of your passport to seciele@unex.es so that we can prepare and send your admission letter within 2–3 days. If you pay by bank transfer, please also attach proof of payment.

6) If your visa application is refused, IELE will refund the full amount of the enrollment fee, deducting only the bank charges related to the refund (please see our Refund Policy). Please note that the refund process may take one or two weeks, so we kindly ask for your patience should this situation arise. To request a refund, please notify us at seciele@unex.es and provide your bank account details, including the IBAN and SWIFT/BIC code.

7) IELE does not arrange accommodation (please see this information). If you require proof of accommodation for your visa application, please follow these instructions carefully:

• We recommend booking accommodation through Booking.com and submitting the booking confirmation with your visa application. We particularly recommend Hostal Al-Qazeres, with which we regularly work.
• If you would prefer us to arrange the reservation, please contact seciele@unex.es. We will arrange a one-month reservation at Hostal Al-Qazeres. You will need to provide your bank card details so that the reservation can be made.
• If your visa is granted and you wish to use the accommodation, you must confirm your reservation by emailing seciele@unex.es at least one month before your arrival in Cáceres. If you do not do so, your reservation will be cancelled and a €150 cancellation fee will be charged.
