Frequently Asked Questions

1) Our INTENSIVE SPANISH PROGRAM meets all the requirements for obtaining a student visa for Spanish studies in Spain:

• • Duration: 1 academic year.
  • 20 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.).
  • Beginner level (up to B2 level).
  • Dates: 9 September to 30 June / 11 January to 17 December.
  • Registration deadline: up to 1 month before the start of the course.
  • Price: €2,500. This may be paid in two installments of €1,250 each, one before the start of the course and the other during the third month of the program. This is the total cost, to which only approximately €30 must be added for the coursebook we use.
  • No special requirements are needed to enroll.

2) Request your Offer Letter by emailing seciele@unex.es and providing your full name, nationality, passport number, the course you wish to enroll in, and the course start and end dates.

3) Registration is completed online through the Eventos platform, where you may pay the registration fee by bank card. Payment may also be made by bank transfer (our bank details are also available on Eventos).

4) Once you have enrolled, request your Letter of Admission by emailing seciele@unex.es and providing your full name, nationality, passport number, the course in which you have enrolled, and the course start and end dates. Please attach a copy of your passport and proof of payment of the registration fee.

5) If you require an invoice for the registration fee payment, please request it from contafuex@unex.es and provide your full name, nationality, passport number, the course in which you have enrolled, and the course start and end dates. Please attach your Letter of Admission signed by the Secretary or Director of IELE, a copy of your passport, and proof of payment of the registration fee.

6) The granting of a visa depends entirely on the relevant embassy or consulate. The visa entitles the holder to obtain a TIE (Foreigner Identity Card) and to work up to 30 hours per week during the period of study. Any further questions regarding these matters should be addressed to the relevant authorities.

7) If your visa process is delayed, you may postpone the start of your course to a later edition without any inconvenience. Simply notify profiele@unex.es.

8) If you are interested in continuing your studies at the University of Extremadura, you may enroll directly in the BACHELOR’S PATHWAY PROGRAM or the MASTER’S PATHWAY PROGRAM. If you are interested in pursuing vocational training studies, you may enroll in our VOCATIONAL PATHWAY PROGRAM. Our partner organization, Study in Spain Guide (SSG), provides students with the services necessary to facilitate their admission to undergraduate, master’s degree, or vocational training programs. 9) If your visa application is refused, IELE will refund the registration fee, deducting €150. This process may take one or two weeks, so we kindly ask for your patience if this situation arises. You may request a refund by emailing contafuex@unex.es (cc: seciele@unex.es) and providing your full name, nationality, passport number, the course in which you enrolled, and the course start and end dates. Please attach your Letter of Admission signed by the Secretary or Director of IELE, a copy of your passport, and proof of payment of the registration fee.

10) IELE does not manage accommodation directly (please refer to this information, which provides guidance on accommodation options and health insurance). If you require proof of accommodation for your visa application, we recommend booking accommodation through Booking.com and submitting the booking confirmation with your visa application. We particularly recommend the Hostal Al-Qazeres, with which we regularly collaborate.
